I've recently come to the decision that the television is on entirely too much at my house. I love some children's programs as much as the next mom; but when my one-year-old came to me with one of her sister's toys and proudly announced "Backpack, Mama!" I decided we needed some "TV-Free Time". So now, I'm on the hunt for fun, creative things to do with my toddlers. I want to interact with them, rather than all of us interact with the television. Some of my favorite things to do involve crafts - which can involve messes, but then I get to teach them to help me "clean up" as well.

My two-and-a-half year-old loves to play Hopscotch - and I'm transported back to my childhood whenever we play. She frequently asks me to make Homemade Play Dough, which gives her the opportunity to use her great-grandmother's cookie cutters and I love that connection with Great-Gramma Egg, who is no longer with us. And now that she has discovered being a "princess" - and all the glittery things that go along with that - I'm sure she's going to have a blast when I make Glitter Play Dough! My one-year-old loves drawing and anything she can put in her mouth. I thought Fingerlickin' Fingerpaint and other Edible Fingerpaints sounded like they'd be right up her alley! I'll be searching our Crafts and Crafts for Kids boards for more great ideas, too!!

Hopefully, before Baby Sister arrives this winter, we'll have a chance to Have a Tea Party together. We'll be sure to send you an invitation and I hope you'll join us!
