While looking for inspiration for a topic I discovered that May 10th is Clean up Your Room day. Every weekend, my 13-year-old daughter and I go head-to-head over her messy room. I remember that I was never very good at keeping my own room clean, so I understand that my standards are not the same as my teenager's. I want to respect her privacy and let her keep her room her way, but there have to be limits with regard to safety and true filth. Unfortunately, we don't see eye-to-eye on this and I could use some help! The good news is that Pregnancy & Parenting has some good articles about ending the messy room wars and ways to motivate your teen to get organized. Maybe the novelty of Clean up Your Room day will help get the ball rolling. Even if it doesn't, I'm going to offer to help my daughter get organized and take charge of her room.
