For
my first Mother’s Day, my husband sheepishly admitted to me (in
the middle of a video rental store for safety, no doubt) that he
didn’t get anything for me because I wasn’t his mother. As
we were leaving the store, he handed me a super sized gumball and
wished me a Happy Mother’s Day. I have to admit, as I
watched the gumball fly down the alley and bounce off the back of
his head, I realized how much I really enjoyed that gift. He
has never forgotten a Mother’s Day since then and is now careful
what he hands me when I’m annoyed.
What
