My daughter turned four-years-old last Thursday and to celebrate, we threw a “Puppy Party” over the weekend!  There was a puppy cake, puppy cups and plates, balloons with puppy paw prints and a homemade blend of “puppy chow” that consisted of Crispix cereal, chocolate and confectioner’s sugar.  We even found “Scooby-Doo Snacks” that look like little dog bones, but are really graham crackers!  Grace was only a little disappointed that we couldn’t invite real dogs to the party (Her aunt has two gigantic Tibetan Mastiffs. My little house would not be able to withstand the chaos). But to make sure that dogs were also able to have some birthday fun, we asked all of our guests to bring a dog care item to be donated to our local animal shelter.  It was so much fun to put together -- the Birthday Girl had a blast (as did our pug, who enjoyed all the extra attention), and a doggone good time was had by all.  J
